The modular filter cloth design features a Velcro fastening system, making replacement quick and easy without the need for specialized personnel. The micron-grade high-precision filter cloths provide 30% better filtration performance than traditional filtration equipment, effectively reducing pollutants as well as COD and BOD levels in the water.

Fully automated operation via PLC
Compact footprint, low energy consumption

Compact Footprint, Low Energy Consumption

Compared to traditional sand filters, the Aidon rotary disc filter eliminates the need for a blower room, backwash pump room, lift station, and pre-chlorination unit. Its compact design and minimal auxiliary equipment significantly reduce the required footprint. The PLC control system reduces the number of components and operational complexity, requiring only one person to manage machine operation and maintenance. Aidon utilizes the gravitational force generated by the liquid level difference as the driving mechanism, resulting in low energy consumption, reduced water and electricity usage, and lower operating costs.

How does your cloth media filter control processing capacity and water quality standards?

The processing capacity of the disc filter can be customized to meet your needs, and the specifications of the Disc Filter are determined by the required processing capacity. Simply provide detailed information about the material to be treated and the required processing capacity, and Aidon Environmental Protection’s technical staff will develop a professional design plan based on your specific requirements to ensure your operational needs are met.

The filter cloth used in the rotary disc filter is made of micron-grade, high-precision fabric that meets the highest industry standards, effectively removing impurities to meet all your required parameters.

Is the Aidon cloth media filter highly automated? Does operation require relevant experience?

All Aidon disc filters are equipped with a PLC control cabinet. The PLC is easy to operate and features a touchscreen interface. The PLC control system can run fully automatically, supporting unattended operation and one-touch start/stop functions, while also enabling real-time monitoring, thereby saving on labor costs.

Even personnel without prior experience can operate the system proficiently after a brief training session or by consulting the manual; the learning curve is extremely low.

Is the Aidon cloth media filter expensive?

Both the initial investment and operating costs are low.

Initial Investment Phase: The cloth media filter has a small footprint, significantly reducing civil engineering costs. It features a steel monolithic structure that requires no on-site construction or civil works, effectively saving time and labor.

Operational Phase: The Aidon disc filter consumes minimal water during operation, helping to conserve water resources. Its gravity-driven system, combined with a low-power motor, reduces energy consumption by 35% compared to traditional filtration equipment. The automated design and intelligent one-touch control not only save on labor costs but also minimize operational risks.

Is the Aidon cloth media filter difficult to install?

The Aidon cloth media filter is quick and easy to install and can adapt to on-site conditions rapidly and effectively. The disc filter features a factory-welded, integrated steel housing design, making the installation process simple and allowing for plug-and-play operation immediately upon delivery. No major civil engineering work is required, maximizing time savings during the construction phase.

For retrofit projects, the Aidon cloth media filter can be directly integrated and quickly adapted to existing treatment systems. We provide remote online installation guidance. The Aidon technical service team offers lifetime technical support.

What Components Make up a Cloth Media Filter?

The equipment consists of filter discs (rotating discs), a backwash mechanism, a central cylinder (shaft), a drive mechanism, electrical controls, pumps, valves, and piping.

Filter discs: Composed of a sector-shaped frame covered with filter cloth, they trap suspended solids in the water. Their well-designed structure makes it easy to remove and install the filter cloth.

Suction mechanism: Consists of suction inlets, piping, and suction inlet brackets. It is used for backwashing and rinsing the filter discs and filter cloth.

Central tube (shaft): Treated water (or reclaimed water) flows through the central tube into the effluent collection area after treatment. The central tube not only conveys the treated water but also rotates to drive the filter cloth, facilitating backwashing.

Drive Mechanism: Comprising a gearbox and a sprocket-chain assembly, this mechanism drives the rotation of the central tube and filter discs.

Electrical System: Consisting of an electrical control cabinet, PLC, and other electrical control components, this system manages backwashing, sludge discharge, and operational automation. It also allows for the adjustment of backwashing duration, intervals, and sludge discharge timing. Pumps, Valves, and Piping: Comprising a self-priming pump, piping, and electric valves, this system is used for backwashing and sludge discharge.

What Are the Applications of Cloth Media Filters?

Cloth media filter is one of the most advanced filtration systems in the world today, offering excellent treatment performance, high-quality effluent, and stable operation. It is primarily used for the treatment of cooling and circulating water, as well as for the advanced treatment and reuse of wastewater.

For the filtration and reuse of cooling and circulating water: Inlet water suspended solids (SS) ≤ 80 mg/L; effluent SS ≤ 10 mg/L.

Cloth media filters are suitable for filtering effluent from activated sludge sedimentation tanks. Design parameters: influent SS: 30 mg/L (can tolerate up to 80–100 mg/L), effluent SS ≤ 5 mg/L, turbidity ≤ 2 NTU. Actual operational effluent quality is even better, with typical effluent turbidity around 1 NTU.

Used for advanced wastewater treatment and reclaimed water reuse. Installed downstream of the coagulation and sedimentation tanks in conventional activated sludge systems, extended aeration systems, SBR systems, oxidation ditch systems, and trickling filter systems to remove total suspended solids; when combined with chemical dosing, it can remove phosphorus and color; it can also remove heavy metals and other contaminants.
